Review: Demonglass

Demonglass
Demonglass by Rachel Hawkins

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really like this series. I love Sophie's sarcasm and wit. The one thing I don't like is the whole love triangle thing. I'm getting tired of these main characters having to choose between two men who are both good. It's a trend in YA literature that I could do with seeing less of.

That being said, I truly enjoyed the book, and I can't wait for the next one!

Review: Eternal Eden

Eternal Eden
Eternal Eden by Nicole Williams

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

If you are a fan of Stephenie Meyer, you will like this book. It reminded me of her style many times, and even the story had parts that were reminiscent of her plots. However, THERE ARE NO VAMPIRES. Thank heaven.

This is the type of book that is entertaining enough to keep you wanting to read more, and more, and more. It's over 900 pages, so needless to say, I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning reading this book - and I was not disappointed.

It's a traditional YA paranormal romance, so if you like that sort of thing, I highly recommend it. Plus, it's only 99 cents to download it to your electronic reading device. Quite the steal of a deal!

The Dream

In my dream world, I would open a bookstore with both new and used sections, a large fireplace and comfy chairs and couches for sipping hot apple cider and reading. There would also be a book exchange section, where you could swap a book for a book. It would be small, cozy and quaint. But most importantly, it would have a small bakery in the corner where I could bake until my heart was content, and not have to worry about consuming everything I made.

This place would be called, The Baked Bookery - and it would be my home away from home. I like to think that someday I'll succeed in turning this idea into brick and mortar, but until then, I'm sending my dream out into the blogosphere.

Here I will share my opinions about the books I read, as well as share recipes and baking ideas. I am not a professional baker, but I consider myself a professional reader (that is, if staying up until 3 a.m. to finish a book I just couldn't put down qualifies as professional - a practice I've been known for since the third grade). Admittedly, I am a Young Adult genre fan, that's most likely the most common type of book I will review - it's a phase I'm going through right now. But I do love all types of books, and I welcome your comments.

Let the dream begin!
