Review: Fallen Eden

Fallen Eden
Fallen Eden by Nicole Williams

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

What a disappointment. I liked the 1st book much better, but this one was so frustrating because I couldn't get over how similar it was to the Twilight Saga. I mean, come on, she leaves him because she loves him and wants to protect him, blah, blah, blah. And then, of course, they introduce a possible love interest that she just loves as a friend but he loves her, blah, blah, blah.

The tragedy is there is such a great story here. There really is potential to do things with the idea and the plot, but it's like Williams just succumbed to Stephenie Meyer hero-worship. By the end I was completely annoyed with our heroine. And if the not-so-subtle hint toward the end is any indication, she will be betrothed to William's brother, and that will make me even more frustrated because, come on! Can no one be specific in this book? How easy would it have been for William to say, "She will be my wife." Instead of, "She will be part of this family." Who says that? Grrrr.....

I admit that I will read the next book. Despite my feelings about this installment, I still have high hopes for series!
